Designer Pamela Lious’ success story reads like many other jewelry success stories: her label began after friends and passersby would buy necklaces right off your next. Really, there is no better advertising than wearing your own designs. Soon after New York based retailer Oak picked up the line…and so the story goes.

Her line stunning and intricate jewelry, Langoliers, is her own personal experimentation with handicrafts. She draws inspiration from old-world craftsmanship, mysticism, and Chinese numerology.
This collection, titled “Late Night Montmartre” revolves around the idea of the disintegration of Art Nouveau forms.
Langoliers is available online and in store at Oak
Oak just received their most recent Surface to Air shipment, and these buckled wedges seem like a great way to spend your tax refund. If you have enough money left over, throw in the leather bag too. Happy tax day!

You may recognize Don the Verb as Yanina Landsaat’s vintage store on the Lower East Side, but since 2007 the name also applies to Yanina Landsaat’s collection of drapy, sometimes unusual “uniform” inspired clothing. Yanina Landsaat started Don the Verb after meeting her design partner Hanna Astrom (a regular customer). Fall ’08, entitled “Modern Warrior” was their debut collection, and they’ve since moved on to Spring ’09, inspired by summer in the city and all its glory like: ice cream trucks, train announcements, black outs, brown outs and humidity. The fairly large collection subtly weaves in abstract details like lengths that do not equal and uneven sleeves. Click here for pictures of the complete collection (there’s a lot more).
