Oh how we long for our weekly trips to Anica…thank our lucky stars for Anica’s lovely e-commerse site — it’s like we never left the city by the bay, almost. They’ve stocked some great new vintage (yes, it sounds like a contradiction but it’s not) pieces.
When the times get tough, the tough must get creative. San Francisco based Anica boutique has done just that — and their inventiveness is out of the world. They’ve officially launched The New Moons Collection composed entirely of two pieces: a tie-dyed velour printed tank dress, plus a perfectly simple yet fashion forward tank. But that’s just enough to satisfy any true indie fashion lover. By the looks of this quaint debut collection, Anica will glide right through this recession. Hallelujah!
Guest Editor Sydney has been feeding everyone here a weekly dose of affordable fashion in our new food stamps column. Well when she’s not doing that she’s 1/2 RosenMunns and her most recent collection has just arrived at Anica. The pieces are offered in very limited quality so if you see something you like act fast.
AZFN (the duo also known as Anzevino and Florence) has captivated us once again, this time with their Fall ’09 collection. Each piece features some sort of unique selling point, like detailed embroidered sleeves on an oversized football style tee, a sheer organza skirt that comes attached to a pair of pants (see above), or even the simplest features like the stunning royal blue on a cotton scarf. We know, you know, we love Anica. Things get really heated when new arrivals start trickling in…like now. New pieces have arrived from Rachel Comey, Mociun, Mary Meyer, Opening Ceremony and Lanyard. We’d be lying if we said we haven’t already dabbled in a little of this new-arrival-ecstasy.
NYC based Nomia has unveiled images of their SS ’09 collection of dresses and a couple separates. A lot of zipper detailing, flesh tones and mid-thigh-length hems give us a yearning for warm summer nights (those that unfortunately don’t exist here in SF) and outdoor cocktail parties.
