How sweet is this Fall '08 collection from Aussie turn Londoner Katherine Pont's label Mine. What started by accident from a hobby of creating one off tees has blossomed into a full-force label now in their 7th season. Overall Fall '08 sticks to Mine's trademark girliness, and is composed of frocks and separates suited for all you Sirens and Sailors, or girls yearning for a little vintage flair. I'm crazy over the first dress on the right. Shop Spring '08 at Standard Deviation.

Anne Kimball
There's something refreshing about Bay Area based Anne Kimball's easygoing eponymous collection. Each piece is endearing and flattering, yet down to earth; the type of clothing designed to wear with you. The collection is very reminiscent of Jackson, Johnson and Roe whom we wrote about awhile back. Maybe it's my inner earthliness, but I find Anne Kimball's creations invigorating. Here are a few favorites from Spring, available online at Doe, as well as a sneak peek of Fall 2008.

Sneak Peek: Tristan Blair

Here are a few pieces from Tristan Blair's fall '08 'Go be good' collection. While the heels are pretty fierce, I'm crazy about the flat buckle beauties...definitely on my must have list for fall. I love the strong menswear undertone. Check out Gargyle for pieces from Blair's Spring collection, or stay tuned for an updated stocklist in the fall.

Sneak Peek: Mociun Fall '08

Caitlin Mociun designs a mean print - her textile skills are flat out phenomenal. Her hand printed whimsical designs keep me anxious for each impending season, and fall '08 is no exception - it's actually a step above the rest. Her trademark native motif proves to be a re-occurring theme, fall '08 being entitled 'Naming Ceremony.' My wish list is already 4 pieces long, and the collection hasn't even hit stores. Expect deliveries late summer.

Sneak Peek: JF and Son Winter '08

With two seasons under their belt and one on the horizon, JF & Son is definitely a designer on the rise to look out for. With that said, there isn't too much information about the line other than the pictures (which sometimes speak louder than words) and a great interview by Sheila Beckman. The designer and journalist chat about inspirations, the future, and the world's tallest buildings. JF and Son's winter collection is cleverly entitled "falling into." Click here for full interview. Stocklists are limited, but their site lists Eva NY as an account.

Sneak Peek: Mundi Fall/Winter '08

Mundi is a very new designer out of Iceland. The motivation behind the collection is a general nostalgia for the idea of a Utopian future where 'every one loves each other and flies around in cars.' Futuristic indeed. Each piece is bright, bold and outta this world. Notice a hint a la Bernhard Willhelm? Well, Maria Ziegelboek, the woman behind the lens of Willhelm's Men's fall '08 lookbook, shot this book as well. Sounds like Mundi is already making the right connections.
Stocklists are limited...Welcome Hunters is the only US store that stocks the line so far.

Sneak Peek: Blank Jeans

Cheap Monday made their point: they're taking over the world of Cheap and fashion forward denim. H&M just bought 40% of the company, or something of the like, don't quote me on that one. I still buy a pair a season, but now there's some cheap competition. Blank denim aren't spring chickens, Daily Candy wrote about them last year...but this is the first I'm hearing of them. With a price hovering around 68 bucks, each pair is on trend, the washes are great and the fit is right on. Here are my favorites for fall '08. Urban Outfitters and American Rag stock the line, but these particular styles will be available toward the end of the summer at Anica.

Sneak Peek: Julian Red S/S '08

According to Seven New York "Julian Red challenges the status quo with their...innovative relaxed cut jeans." As their spring/summer '08 collection suggests, Julian Red has successfully progressed from denim with a full line of women and menswear. Each piece is clean, pure and fresh. For her, modestly cut, knee length dresses and jackets paired with those easy fitting jeans garnish a collection still enticing and "innovative", yet with an uncanny simplicity. Sneak Peek: Society for Rational Dress

I really don't know what else to say about Society For Rational Dress' fall '08 collection, other than its just as amazing as always. They designed a couple handbags this time around and brought back my favorite over sized tee(top pic, middle dress) similar to one Guild made a few seasons back, which I wear obsessively despite the three holes I've worn in it. While anxiously awaiting for this collection to hit stores(5 or so months, ouch...), shop spring online here.

Sneak Peek: Heimstone Fall '08

Just when I thought I didn't have it in me...behold, another Heimstone post. This time I bring you their fall '08 collection, fresh off the Parisian market floor. There is a slightly different tone this season, its a little ruffer at points, still 'pretty', but maybe not so 'pretty'.. . The gals of the Parisian duo ventured off and did accessories, which actually represent a few of my favorite pieces throughout the collection. My ultimate favorite: The color block necklace with leather fringe. Simon says anyone? Shop spring online here.
