Random: 2012 Calendars

by Tina on December 28, 2011

A little distracting, but I’ve got calendars on the brain. I was close to buying the new Refinery29 Fashion Calendar at Reserve, until I stumbled across these Wild Unknown Calendars at Bona Drag, and then this Letterpress Calendar (enter code luckydaily3 for 50% off thru 12/28/11).  Kittens, Fashion, or Letterpress. Kittens right? Tough decision.

On a sort of related note, here’s a hefty new Bona Drag Coupon, good for 35% off tops, bottoms and dresses.

New to the Shopping Guide: Anaise

by Tina on September 14, 2011

I’m officially out of the loop. I’ve followed the blog Montmarte for years — an addicting combination of photos, fashion, and design. They apparently opened an online boutique in April — seriously, how did I just discover this?! — which has instantly moved to the top of my favorite shops list. Much like the fashion on Renee’s blog, Anaise features a curated selection clothing, shoes, accessories, books and home goods from harder-to-find labels like Shabd, Apiece Apart, Wendy Nichol, A Detacher + Ariana Bohling. The online presentation is clean, logical and the perfect canvas.

Just a few things I want…

Rachel Comey Dress

Ariana Bohling Shoes

Ashley Morgan Ring

Mociun + Katy Krantz Necklace

Arkas Bralett

What’s the Deal?

by Tina on October 26, 2010

Loyal readers, this post is for you. I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve somewhat neglected Style Bite over the last year. Well, here’s my chance to tell you what’s going on with Style Bite and why.

I started this site over three years ago (crazy I know), fresh off of my first business venture. I opened a boutique at 25, which may have been too soon, and learned some lessons the hard way. I ended up closing up after three amazing years. It was unplanned, obviously, but out of the closure grew this blog and from day one (and even now), it has been 100% about covering new, emerging talent and under-the-radar designers + shops. Simply put, it’s a virtual extension of my shop–my way of exposing and sharing my love of my favorite spots and items online. I never intended to make a living doing it, it was a hobby and needless to say, I loved doing it.

However, as the site grew I began to see things a little differently and started entertaining the idea of actually making a living from it, especially after hearing the success stories of fellow bloggers. But I got sidetracked. All sorts of ‘life’ happened. After being laid off for the first time ever, from a job I loved, I moved to L.A. with my then fiance and now husband, started a new editing job, only to be laid off again, just five months later. Insert a month or so of self-pity here. I was left with no job, a struggling artist fiance and piling debt from my last business. I decided it was an ideal time to start SaleBite.com, an idea I knew had great potential and could one day generate a steady income.
