Mommy and Me: Miló Tricot for all Ages

by Tina on September 2, 2010

This is one of the most adorable concepts. Miló is a Brooklyn-based brand created by Mireia López, that began with a collection of modern sweaters for girls, and soon after introduced the same effortless styles for the grown up kind.  Fall/Winter 2010-11 will be her first season for all ages, and includes a variety of masterful basics, with unexpected cuts and incredible detail. Each item is truly ageless, and if I had a little one I’d love to play dress up together w/ these pieces.

Thank you Una for constantly introducing me to new + exciting talent!

by Tina on August 31, 2010

Like clockwork every year, A.P.C.’s fall collection revs me up for the impending colder weather. This season seems extra special, especially with the new arrival of these versitle boots, this classic camel trench coat + these preppy moccasins.

Convent fell off my radar for a while, but I revisited their site recently in search of this Jackson Clutch, and then proceeded to kick myself for not posting earlier! Relatively new to New York’s LES, Convent has an ovarall dark vibe (lot’s of black), and stocks a  wonderful selection of lessor-known designers like Postmodern Tease (shredded to perfection!), Costume Dept, Backstage, Jackson (that clutch I just mentioned), Sally Lapointe and Dark Matter. Many items online are on sale now, but there are also some early fall arrivals by Dusen Dusen + a few others…

Based in Minneapolis, Annie Larson crafts her eponymous collection of colorful knitwear using a Brother KH-950 Electroknit knitting machine. Not shy of color, the average tank, legging, biker short (obsessed!) and even bag consists of an average of five or six different hues. And while her knits are fun and whimsical…Annie means business. She goes into length online about the knitting process.

ALL sweaters are made by me, Annie Lee Larson. Every step of the process to design and produce your sweater is in my hands, made in the storefront studio of my apartment. Though I take great care in constructing each garment, they still carry evidence of a human touch. Be happy to know that your sweater has already been loved by another person before it even gets to you!

RIF: P.S. – I Made this, the Book

August 17, 2010

I can’t wait to get a copy of Erica Domesek’s (from DIY blog P.S. — I Made this) new book, available for pre-order now on Amazon. Like her blog, the book will feature do-it-yourself projects inspired by recent runway trends, and simple enough for a craft challenged gal like myself to create. Seriously — Erica’s [...]

Pour Porter is quickly becoming one of my favorite online-only boutiques, especially after these new arrivals from Laura Manoogian. And the prices are good. $96 for the hand-made necklace on the left + $116 for the beauty on the right. Also just in, jewelry by Erin Considine + Nora MacLeod.

New to the Shopping Guide: Shotwell Opens Online

August 12, 2010

Shotwell has been open in San Francisco for a while, but their Webshop is very new and in ‘soft launch’ mode. I stumbled upon this news because they’re having a Bing Bing trunk show tonight–designer Anna Sheffield will the there–and I clicked over for the details and there it was! A new Webshop full of [...]

Lookbook Lovin’: Snoozer Loser A/W 2010

August 9, 2010

I’ve long been a fan of New York based Snoozer Loser’s charming custom prints and easy style, but my little crush has gotten serious. They’ve released images of A/W ’10 and it’s full of circle skirts, playful jumpers and the most precious scissor print in varying navy/ivory/gold color combos.
