Designers Sarah Welsh and Madeline Davy created Brooklyn based OCTOPI in the Spring of ’03, after meeting at the Rhode Island School of Design. Among their many influences, they list Brancusi and workout gear as their favorites–with clear signs of this geometric and stretchy combo throughout their Fall ’09 collection featured here. The duo said themselves that this season they “took a building block approach to design. Like Tetris pieces we wedge, stack and tier shapes into form.
