So, I have learned that blogging while on the road is harder than it looks. Case in point, NY Market Spring 2008. Being a buyer and blogger comes with many perks, my favorite being my bi-annual trip to Manhattan to check out all the new spring 08′ collections. I tried three separate times to post, but the internet connection at our hotel was more than annoying. But, style bite is back, this time with a vengeance. I saw soooooooo much new stuff my brain is on overload.
It’s going to take a weeks worth of posting to fill you in, so I am going to give a quick glance at some of the highlights of this past week.
Favorite spring collections:
Heimstone-This french line is in its sophomore season, and all I saw was beautiful silky layering pieces embellished with the perfect amount of “Armour”. Rough(as in unfinished hems and studded collars, but delicate(as in the finest layered silk and slinky straps) all in one, I loved it.
Mociun-Brooklyn based artist/designer Caitlin Mociun come up with some new prints and styles, my favorite being the cutest spring coat I have seen so far. Stay tuned for more…
Favorite New Designer:
A Small Collection: this new line out of Texas was one of my favorites. Alyson Fox is an artist, illustrator, and now a designer. This small collection is cleverly titled and as you can see, cleverly executed. Adorable and wearable, sustainable and irresistible. I will post later in more detail about this one, trust me.
Favorite Trends:
Bold colors, florescent yellow, lingerie dresses, bustiers used for layering, skirts, skirts, skirts.
I’m still waiting on pictures of this stuff, should have images to show you by tuesday.
